2018.02.28 Our paper Using Animation to Alleviate Overdraw in Multiclass Scatterplot Matrices was accepted to CHI 2018 and will be presented on Thursday April 26th in the Perception in Visualization 2 session in room 519AB at 11:00am in Montréal!
2017.02.23 Our open-access paper Unboxing Cluster Heatmaps is now published in BMC Bioinformatics, Volume 18 (Supplement 2):63 — Proceedings of the Symposium on Biological Data Visualization at VIS 2016.
2017.02.10 Our workshop on Innovations in Pedagogy of Data Visualization is officially returning to IEEE VIS 2017.
2016.12.13 I will be General Chair for VizSec 2017 in Phoenix, alongside a fantastic team on both the organizing and program committees.
2016.05.06 I received the Innovation in Teaching and Technology Award from the Center for Instruction and Technology (CIT).


I graduated with my Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of California, Davis under the guidance of Matt Bishop, Sean Peisert, and many others at the SecLab. I received my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, studying networking and computer security with Ken Dick and Blaine Burnham at the Peter Kiewit Institute. My partner and frequent collaborator is Sean Whalen. I have many research interests, including data visualization, computer security, and computer science education.
